Mergenet Medical, Inc. (MMI) is
a healthcare technology incubator launched in 2004 to identify, develop,
finance and manage innovative products for the medical market. Mergenet
Medical is fortunate to begin with the advantages of an existing marketing
and distribution network through its business association with other
Mergenet Solutions Inc. (MSI) companies.
Mergenet Solutions, Inc the parent company of Mergenet Medical, Inc, is a
highly successful technology incubator. InnoMed Technologies, RespCare and
InnoMed CriticalCare are successful companies under Mergenet Solutions
corporate management. Mergenet Solutions companies have associations with a
network of over 3500 DME’s (Durable Medical Equipment Companies) in the USA
and Canada and have developed alliances with major, medical product
distributors such as Teleflex Medical.
Mergenet Medical, Inc adds to the portfolio of MSI businesses and creates
new opportunities which allow MMI to harness resources in a cost effective
manner. A most significant benefit for MMI is access to the essentials for
success: a sound reputation, financial resources, seasoned business
experience, tight fiscal oversight, and a network of professional
relationships.
Mergenet Medical, Inc is developing innovative medical products targeted for
markets served by other MSI companies, which adds synergism and takes
advantage of MSI’s business resources. Our goal is to gain market
leadership, and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage to produce for
our shareholders a healthy return on investment based on a portfolio of
products within the healthcare sector.
MMI has both acquired and developed intellectual property rights to several
medical technologies. The market size for the combined product lines is
estimated to be approximately $600 million in the USA alone.
As part of its growth strategy, MMI focuses on technologies with a market
horizon of less than 3 years. For this, we take into consideration product
reimbursement by Medicare and private insurers, and assess whether the
product has clear medical advantage over existing products and whether the
product will serve a wide target market. We utilize economic modeling to
determine sufficient profit margins, and consider market demands and
competitive advantages and the regulatory environment. Some of our
technologies have already received FDA clearance and others are under review.
Our principal focus is on producing products for pulmonary medicine, a
market that MSI has inroads into, and a field we see as being underserved.
Our plans include a product line of diagnostic devices, which put improved
tools in the hands of physicians to give them better insight to diagnose and
manage their patients and to increase practice revenues. Another product
line in design features devices for non-invasive treatment of prevalent
respiratory and breathing disorders. Both of these markets present
opportunity which meet our criteria for providing products which benefit
patients and physicians.
