RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23,
2006--Teleflex Medical announced today the launch of the
Hybrid(TM),
a revolutionary interface for use with sleep therapy systems for the
treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. The Hybrid interface is a
unique fusion of technologies designed to be a universal interface
for patients, clinicians and providers. This one product serves as a
nasal interface, an oral interface, and a combination of the two.
Its proprietary design enhances patient comfort and compliance by
eliminating pressure points on the forehead and across the bridge of
the nose.
"We at Teleflex Medical are excited to bring this innovative
technology to market," said Tim Hopper, vice president and general
manager of the Medical Products business unit, Teleflex Medical.
"The proprietary design of the Hybrid redefines the management of
obstructive sleep apnea by providing optimal patient comfort
resulting in greater therapy compliance. As a result, the Hybrid
will transform the way OSA management is viewed moving forward."
The Hybrid joins Teleflex Medical's existing family of
Nasal-Aire(R)
II sleep therapy interfaces. The Nasal-Aire II features an
innovative design that looks, wears and feels like an oversized
oxygen cannula. The product is available in standard and petite
sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of patients.
